We rose with the sun on the first full day of our vacation to a beautiful sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean. A beautiful sight for such an important day. It is one of our dreams to be able to see the sun come up on one coast and down on the other coast that same day.
One day hopefully! The kids were all up and patiently waiting for pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream since I forgot the syrup at home but they were a huge hit and they ate very well in preparation for our long day at the beach. We did lots of egg hunts over and over again before lathering up and going out to the ocean.
(I think we used more sunscreen than anything else during the course of the week!) Granddad, Joseph and Robb spent the majority of the day at the smoker cooking up some spectacular BBQ for the week. We really enjoyed the fruits of their labor even though we did miss them at the beach that day. We spend a few hours in the sand before coming in for lunch and some naps. That afternoon it was getting windy so we flew some kites and the kids enjoyed their bubble sticks on the beach.
